Mimosa Bar #BrunchWeek

May 8, 2017

Mimosas are my requirement for brunch and my homemade mimosa bar is sure to steal the show!

This post is sponsored in conjunction with #BrunchWeek. I received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the #Brunchweek recipes. All opinions are mine alone.

Mimosa Bar from LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek #sponsored

When I brunch, I love having mimosas. Endless mimosas are great when I brunch out, but mimosa bars at home are even better. I love having options to pair with champagne, and mimosa bars are the best way to please everybody.

Our amazing Sponsors have donated some great prizes for the #BrunchWeek giveaway.

My favorite flavors are “Flamingo” – orange juice, cranberry juice and champagne, pineapple juice and champagne, or peach juice and champagne. A variety of juices is key, as are a variety of fruit garnishes. I almost always have orange slices, berries, and peach slices. Any combination of fruit is guaranteed to look gorgeous.

Mimosa Bar from LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek #sponsored

Whether you like champagne, prosecco, or any other variety of sparkling wine, make sure it is nicely chilled and you have enough on hand. I usually keep a few in a large ice bucket once my brunches start, and guests can help themselves.

Mimosa Bar from LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek #sponsored

Glassware is important. I love champagne flutes, and prefer stemless for parties – I think it’s just easier both for display, ease of use and in cleaning. You can use real glass or nowadays get some pretty real looking plastic ones too. I always have fun straws on hand to add to my mimosa bar. Straws are a great way to tie in your theme or color scheme. Whichever you prefer, always keep it classy, and have fun!

Blackberry Lemon Bramble

May 2, 2017

A refreshing cocktail with a berry-licious twist: blackberries, lemons, simple syrup, gin and ginger ale combine into a refreshing drink, perfect for happy hour or evening cocktail. It easily turns from a cocktail to a mocktail too!

Blackberry Lemon Bramble from LoveandConfections.com

I love creating fun cocktails and this Bramble is one of my favorites so far. It has the perfect amount of sweet and tart, and incredibly easy to make. Blackberries are in season right now. The gorgeous, plump, and juicy berries are absolutely delicious and perfect for a Spring or Summer cocktail.

Blackberry Lemon Bramble from LoveandConfections.com

My one pet-peeve about these gorgeous purple fruits are the seeds. I dislike any cocktail that has muddled blackberries and keeps the seeds in. To fix that, I used my food processor then strained the mixture so I had the wonderful blackberry flavor, without all the seeds.

Blackberry Lemon Bramble from LoveandConfections.com

I can definitely imagine myself sitting on my patio, enjoying the Spring sunset, with a Blackberry Lemon Bramble in hand. Don’t forget some fun garnishes – because we eat with our eyes first. I am growing mint in my container garden at the moment and am loving the pop of color it gives. I also have an alternative if you or someone you know is not imbibing. The mocktail tastes just as delicious!

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer

January 24, 2017

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer is sweet, tart, and a great non-alcoholic party drink. Make it extra pretty with some fresh mint and cute straws for someone special!

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer from LoveandConfections.com

It’s strawberry season in Florida and I am loving it. I have been posting quite a few strawberry photos recently on Instagram, and can’t wait to get in the fields to pick. Until then, I decided to create a refreshing drink, perfect for any occasion – Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer.

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer from LoveandConfections.com

Most people associate spritzers with being an alcoholic drink, but my mocktail is just as good. Sweet strawberries blended with lemon-lime soda are mixed with pink lemonade concentrate and more lemon-lime soda. Garnish with some fresh mint, strawberries and a cute straw, and you are ready to party!

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer from LoveandConfections.com

I love being surprised with little gifts and treats, so I surprised my Sister for National Compliment Day. In addition to enjoying these Strawberry Lemonade Spritzers with her, we also indulged in some Hand-Dipped Champagne Strawberries and Cake Truffles, compliments of Shari’s Berries. She works really hard as a Physician Assistant, and nothing says “I love you” like some chocolate covered strawberries. I know these definitely brightened her day.

Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer from LoveandConfections.com

Go ahead and compliment someone today. Say or do something nice to someone – you never know how much they might need it. Hope you have a great day and enjoy a Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer!

Spiced Apple Cider Sangria

October 27, 2016

Whip up a batch of Spiced Apple Cider Sangria and be the hit of any Fall gathering. Crisp apple cider and warm spices combine with your favorite Riesling and apple liqueur for the perfect Autumn beverage.

Spiced Apple Cider Sangria from LoveandConfections.com

We have finally gotten some cooler Fall weather and I have been enjoying it immensely. The moment it dips below 70 degrees, everyone brings out the boots and sweaters. Hopefully everyone up North is already enjoying some cool, crisp weather and changing leaves. This Sangria is the perfect Fall cocktail, especially enjoying it by the fire with friends.

Spiced Apple Cider Sangria from LoveandConfections.com

The base of this sangria is a cider from Dixie Crystals. The spices make it unbelievably delicious and my house smelled amazing while I created it. No sangria is complete without some good wine and liqueur. I chose a Riesling with apple notes and a spiced apple liqueur. You can also use an apple brandy too.

Spiced Apple Cider Sangria from LoveandConfections.com

The changing of the seasons is one thing we don’t experience in Florida. I haven’t seen changing leaves since my parents left North Carolina and I miss it so much. I love when the leaves turn to various shades of red, orange and gold. The crisp, cool weather, beautiful colors and Autumn decorations make Fall my favorite season.
Spiced Apple Cider Sangria from LoveandConfections.com
This is the perfect cocktail for Halloween parties and would be great for your Thanksgiving gathering too. Don’t forget to garnish with some apple slices or chunks and fun straws.

Apple Pie Milkshake

July 3, 2016

Apple Pie Milkshakes are reminiscent of the favorite holiday pie and ice cream, with a twist. Use pre-made apple pie and creamy vanilla bean ice cream to create an easy and delicious frozen treat, perfect for Summer and Fourth of July celebrations!

Click here to PIN this tasty recipe so you can make it later!

Apple Pie Milkshakes by LoveandConfections.com

Good food, family, friends and fireworks always made it a special day. We have apple pie on the Fourth, and of course vanilla ice cream to top it with, so I thought that would be the perfect combination for an easy and delicious milkshake.

Apple Pie Milkshakes by LoveandConfections.com

Our Fourth of July celebration always consisted of grilling, swimming in the pool, and lot (and lots and lots) of fireworks. We had so many fireworks that a large table was set up to display and organize them all. The fathers in our cul-de-sac went all-out every year. We set up lawn chairs in our driveway to watch the show. My mom even grew an aloe plant just for our Fourth of July celebrations, in case anyone got burned from a sparkler or firework.

Apple Pie Milkshakes by LoveandConfections.com

One year, we had a rogue firework that, when lit, flew sideways and onto the firework staging table. I have never seen the Dads move so fast in my entire life. They all lunged for the table, knocking off the bad firework, so we didn’t accidentally light everything on fire. I have such fun memories of Fourth of July with my family and our friends, and cannot wait to share the fun with my toddler too.

Apple Pie Milkshakes by LoveandConfections.com

Apple Pie Milkshakes are also an excellent way to use up any leftover apple pie after your festivities too. Make the milkshakes extra festive by adding graham cracker crumbs on the rim, whipped cream, fun straws and patriotic sprinkles. I hope you and your family have a wonderful, and safe, Fourth of July. Enjoy some Apple Pie Milkshake!

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

June 7, 2016

This post was sponsored by Starbucks as part of an Influencer Activation. I received compensation and complimentary products to facilitate my review.

Cinnamon Tea Cookies are the perfect accompaniment to TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods for sweet and spicy perfection.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

Lattes are one of my favorite hot drinks. Every morning before culinary school my friend and I would trade off going to the local coffee shop for coffee and lattes. My usual order was a vanilla latte, because I had yet to discover my love of chai.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

Fast forward a few years and I became the proud owner of a Keurig® brewer. One of my guilty pleasures is sipping a warm beverage on cold days, especially when a good movie is on the television or I have a good book to read. With a busy toddler, those days of relaxing and reading are few and far between. I do get relaxing moments to myself every so often, and TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods, with it’s rich, creamy taste of authentic TAZO® Chai Latte, help provide a spicy and sweet escape with every sip. The minute I smell it brewing, and taste the warm sweet and spicy chai latte, it becomes such a comfort.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

If you’re not familiar with Chai, it is a blend of black tea, milk with a mix of spices, or “masala” in Hindi, the Chai spice mixture of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and vanilla flavor.  The new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods allow you to explore a world of flavor from the comfort of your home. If that description doesn’t entice you enough, try a TAZO® Chai Latte for yourself, and you will definitely become a fan. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy and totally unexpected.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

It was definitely hard to narrow down what recipe I wanted to create to go along with the TAZO® Chai Latte. After tasting both the TAZO® Chai Classic Latte and TAZO® Chai Vanilla Caramel Latte, I knew I had to make a recipe that compliments the sweet, spicy, and bold flavors. Bestselling author and host, Padma Lakshmi, developed a Cinnamon Tea Cookie and other recipes for TAZO®, and I knew it would be perfect. The soft cinnamon cookie paired well with the sweet cinnamon, fragrant cardamom, and spicy ginger of the Chai Lattes.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

I can’t wait to create more recipes that highlight the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and vanilla. Chai muffins, scones, cake, cupcakes, and ice cream are all on my baking to-do list now. I think my next chai goodie will be a doughnut – imagine a warm spicy doughnut with a sweet chai glaze – I can hardly wait! My whole family is sure to love it, and I can’t wait to have one with a warm chai latte, snuggled under a blanket, with my new book.

TAZO® Chai Latte and Cinnamon Tea Cookies from LoveandConfections.com #SweetMeetsSpicy #ChaiLatte

Grab a Cinnamon Tea cookie, TAZO® Chai Latte, and relax as your taste buds take you on an imaginary journey through exotic lands, invigorate you by the aromatic flavors, and leave your ready to travel around the world. You can find out where to buy TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods here, as well as follow TAZO® on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

I hope these cookies inspire you to celebrate the flavors of chai with TAZO®. Grab a cup!

Sparkling Raspberry Mojito

May 6, 2016

Sparkling Raspberry Mojitos adds glitz and glam to your brunch with this refreshing cocktail. Substitute Prosecco instead of the traditional club soda to make it extra special.

Sparkling Raspberry Mojito by LoveandConfections.com

It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and I am celebrating in a big way. This is the first time my Mom and I are living in the same city in 12 years. I think we have spent a few Mother’s Days together in that time, but I honestly can’t remember, since it isn’t one of the major holidays. This year is special because not only do I get to spend it with my Mom, but #ToddlerLnC gets to spend it with her grandma!

Sparkling Raspberry Mojito by LoveandConfections.com

We have loved having my mom near us the past few months. Especially now that I am a mom, I am appreciative of everything that she has done for me. I am grateful that she is guiding me and helping me raise my little girl, and I can only hope to be as good of a mother to #ToddlerLnC as she has been to me.

Sparkling Raspberry Mojito by LoveandConfections.com

If you are hosting a brunch or luncheon, this is the perfect cocktail to treat any special lady in your life. For all those moms-to-be, you could easily  make this into a mocktail with club soda and raspberry puree. If you’re going out to eat, I recommend having one of these ready for mom when you get home. Hope you enjoy!

Green Tea Mojitos #BrunchWeek

May 2, 2016

Green Tea Mojitos are a refreshing twist on the classic sweet tea and traditional mojito. Mint, simple syrup, and lime juice blend perfectly with the green tea for a fabulous cocktail, or mocktail

Green Tea Mojitos by LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek

Welcome to day 1 of #BrunchWeek! My co-hostess, A Kitchen Hoor, and I are so excited for all the Brunch recipes this week. We have a great group of bloggers, amazing sponsors, and fabulous prize packages! all 37 bloggers are sharing delicious recipes today, and you can see them all at the end of the post. Apparently it has become tradition for me to start of #BrunchWeek with a cocktail, so I created these Green Tea Mojitos for the occasion.

Green Tea Mojitos by LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek

I love mojitos, and it’s always fun to put a twist on the classic and glam it up a bit. I was inspired to create this recipe from a little Cuban food truck at my local farmer’s market. They serve the best Cuban Sandwiches and Tea Mojitos. I searched and searched for a recipe so I could re-create it at home, but had no luck; so I created my own.

Green Tea Mojitos by LoveandConfections.com #BrunchWeek

This mojito is very easy to make and perfect for a warm day. During the Spring and Summer, I have a small herb garden on my patio, and using fresh mint is the key. There is so much flavor and brightness that fresh mint adds to any dish or drink. This would be the perfect drink for a beverage dispenser at a party, just keep the rum on the side as an option, in case there are kids or party-goers who don’t want it.

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

February 14, 2016

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is tart, sweet, refreshing, and absolutely delicious – the perfect drink for a healthy and nutritious Valentine’s Day!

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade from LoveandConfections.com #SundaySupper #FLStrawberry

This post is sponsored by Florida Strawberry Growers Association in conjunction with a social media campaign through Sunday Supper LLC. All opinions are my own.

Strawberry season is one of our favorite times of the year. Aside from eating them straight off the bush, my family and I enjoy all kinds of baked goods and treats with strawberries, like Freezer Jam, Strawberry Fraisier Cake and Strawberry Daiquiri Pie. Since we have quite a bit of warm weather almost year-round, frozen drinks are always welcome. Fresh Florida strawberries are often a main ingredient, like in my Frozen Strawberry Lemonade.

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade from LoveandConfections.com #SundaySupper #FLStrawberry

Did you know that 8 medium strawberries equal your daily requirement of vitamin C? My family loves supporting locally grown, nutritious, and delicious Florida Strawberries. #ToddlerLnC has fun picking strawberries in the field, and enjoys everything I make with them. She usually is a strawberry-covered mess even before we get in the car, because she eats just as many as we pick out in the fields.

I love letting her pick and eat something that is nutritious and healthy, especially locally-grown Florida Strawberries, which are perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Fresh from Florida Strawberries are available December through April, so everyone can get flavorful and nutritious strawberries all Winter long.

Citrus is great in strawberry recipes, especially lemons, because they are so bright and really brings out the flavor in strawberries. I decided to use Meyer Lemons in my frozen drink, since they are in season. Meyer Lemons have a bright yellow-orange skin, and are sweeter and less acidic than conventional lemons found in the grocery store.

Vanilla Greek Yogurt was also added, which is a healthier mix-in for drinks and makes it extra creamy. The tart lemon and creamy yogurt are such a delicious combination for strawberries! It is almost a mix between a smoothie and a daiquiri – so tasty!

Lemon Blueberry Water

November 1, 2015

Lemon Blueberry Water is a refreshing way to stay hydrated. Lemon and Blueberries are a match made in Heaven and this infused water is sure to become your drink of choice.

Lemon and Blueberry is one of my favorite flavor combinations! I love starting my morning with a Lemon Blueberry Parfait, enjoying a cold glass of Lemon Blueberry Iced Tea for an afternoon treat, or indulging with Lemon Blueberry Crepes for dessert.

I still have a good amount of frozen blueberries from when we went picking earlier in the year. I use them in everything like muffins and pancakes, smoothies, and to flavor water. The weather here is still a bit warm and I cannot wait for the cooler Fall weather to arrive. Until then, I am enjoying some refreshing glasses of infused water on warm days. I also created a Cucumber Mint Water that you should have a look at too!
